Das Kolleg wird von zwölf Wissenschaftler*innen der Universität Bremen getragen und ist ein Ort des interdisziplinären Austauschs von empirischer Kulturwissenschaft, Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie, Interdisziplinärer Linguistik, Literaturwissenschaft (Romanistik, nordamerikanische und postkoloniale Literaturen, Ältere deutsche Literaturwissenschaft), Rechtswissenschaft, Humangeographie, Politikwissenschaft, Geschichtswissenschaft Osteuropas, Philosophie und Religionswissenschaft.
