The conference network “Diskurs – interdisziplinär” provides a forum where representatives from linguistics, sociology, political science, philosophy, literary studies, history, and other cultural analysis-based sciences can reflect on and discuss the perspective of “discourse” in a subject-specific and interdisciplinary manner, both within and across disciplines. This idea presupposes that a central task connecting the cultural sciences is to describe and explain the meaning of discourses and their functions in society.
