Negotiating the Incompatible – A Linguistic Discourse-Praxeography of Queer-Christian Subjectivation
For my dissertation I am interested in theoretically as well as empirically exploring the concept of ‘declaration of contradiction’. In this framework contradictions do not exist independent of language but become part of the social world through being linguistically constructed. From a discourse-linguistic perspective I am interested in the conditions under which contradictions are declared and how actors position themselves by negotiating what ought to be considered contradictory within discourse. In terms of methodology I use corpus analysis as well as ethnographic fieldwork within the context of queer-Christian communities.
