This event brings together afropean authors Lucía Mbomio and Jessica Mawuena Lawson for a conversation drawing on the shared threads running through their work: the body, identity, self-care, and the paradox of belonging. Through their respective novels — Hija del Camino (Lucía Mbomio, 2019) and Kekeli (Jessica Mawuena Lawson, 2026) — both writers plunge readers into the tensions and vicissitudes of Afropean experience in societies where the body continues to play a determining role in shaping identity and belonging. The event will combine readings of selected passages, a guided conversation with the authors andan open discussion with the audience.
