Historisch-politische Bildung hat die Aufgabe, demokratische Werte zu vermitteln, gesellschaftliche Teilhabe zu ermöglichen und zur Selbstbestimmung in der Gesellschaft zu befähigen. Gerade in Krisenzeiten kann es aber fatal sein, politische Errungenschaften nur zu verteidigen.
